I would recommend Bloom Upstate

I would recommend Bloom Upstate to any young black girl. The program is amazing! My daughter came home the first day so excited to tell me about what she had learned. Each day she couldn’t wait to go back. I watched her confidence grow each time she went. I loved how she felt comfortable with the facilitators of the program. She was taught about sisterhood and what it meant to be “Black Girl Magic.” Parents please sign your child up for this program, you won’t regret it! This program will guide your daughter towards being strong minded and independent woman.

My experience with Sihle has been great

My experience with Sihle has been great. I have learned to have confidence and love myself.
I enjoy our group chats. we can be honest and don’t have to worry about being judged. I’m looking forward to future Sihle meetings.

Having a teenager isn’t easy.

Having a teenager isn’t easy. Having to go through a situation where you’re separated from your child and when she comes back home you missed that transition from child to teenager is even harder. When my daughter came back to me she was a whole different person. She had been through a lot and was suffering emotionally and needed an outlet. That’s when I met Ms. Andrea and The Bloom Upstate family. Through out being in the program I seen so many positive changes in my daughter and watched her open up again and start to become happy with herself. There were days that I as a mother was struggling with the transition myself and Ms. Andrea took the time out of her day to sit and talk to me and not only allow me to vent but gave me support and solutions and even the tools I needed to help me get through those tuff times. She would always listen with a non judgmental ear and her sweet spirit was evidence that she was not doing it for recognition but from genuine love for my daughter. Bloom Upstate is an amazing program for the youth in our community. They honestly care about what they do. I’m so glad we were introduced to this program and we will continue to be involved with Bloom Upstate as long as possible.

As a Mom that felt like

As a Mom that felt like I had prepared my daughter for her role as she transitioned into womanhood, I was thoroughly surprised how this program dug deeper and enlightened her more than we imagined.

This program Bloom Upstate

This program Bloom Upstate “Shile” has introduced me to new young ladies and helped me open up more with girls my age. I learned about having healthy relationships, communicating with others, HIV/STD Prevention and self care.

The instructors talked to us a lot about all the above and more. The instructors talked on how to become a respectful young lady and how we should carry ourselves in the future.

To attend Bloom Upstate “Sihle” was a wonderful experience for me. I encourage anyone young ladies between the ages 14 – 18 to join.

Beyond Grateful

I’m beyond grateful for Bloom Upstate and the impact the organization continues to have on the well-being of my daughter. I believe it takes a village but also great leadership to empower our youth. My daughter loves Bloom Upstate and as her mom I support her efforts to participate. Bloom Upstate is an organization that goes beyond the average to provide a safe environment for our girls to grow and become leaders.
